Weekend Treat

So, this week has been good but, a little draining! Starting a new job can be like that! The good news is, I think I am going to really like it! :) I saw this recipe on Pinterest and just had to try them! So, I did...and they are so YUMMY! We are headed to a cabin this weekend to relax and watch conference and they are going to make a great cozy cabin treat! :) You should make them too!

Sept. 20th

It's my beautiful mothers birthday today! Aren't mom's just the best! She does so much for our family and I love her very much! I hope she has a good day! If you know her...text, email, FB, or call her today so she feels the love... She deserves it! We had a little party for her on Sunday and we are going to dinner to celebrate tonight! Can't Wait! 

It is also, our sweet pups birthday today too... I wonder if he even understands it's his birthday (ha)? He is four today and I just love this little doggy! He gets a lot of love around our house...and has brought us a lot of entertainment over the years! He also goes by a lot of names in house, we are convinced he will come to ANY name at this point! :) Some of the most common ones are Mr. B, Beez, Bees knees, Beesle, Wog, Woggle, Munk, Munkin, Fluff n' Stuff, Fluffinstein, and whatever else we feel is appropriate at the time (Mike comes up with some good ones)! Weird, I know!

Bangs

So, I'm trying something new with my bangs and I am NOT sold on the idea yet...

I know that I am horrible with change so, I am trying to give it sometime to set in.

Disclaimer: I don't really think this is a blog worthy topic but, I am bored at work today... I put in my two weeks on Monday and I am just chilling while my boss interviews 11 applicant today, awesome! Oh and word to the wise, It might not be the best idea to wear Old Navy flip flops to an interview and 4% of $100,000 is not 74.7....

I have had the same bangs since 8th grade, I'm totally out of style I know... but, I can never seem to bring myself to change them. I tried straight across bangs a couple of months back but, I didn't love them.  I did feel more "in style" and people (including my husband) seemed to like them but, eventually I went back to the old way ... (My husband liked it too, he said it's how he remembered me looking when we first met). So, I am bored again and I am trying no-ish bangs...I am just parting my hair down the middle and I am going to try and let them grow. My bff, Soph...who I totally trust (she is stylin) said she loved them and again, my husband likes the change a lot (NOW, I am realizing he has no real opinion... he just loves everything, ha.. thanks babe-he can't be trusted). However, I'm SO NOT SOLD on them! I feel very weird and old! Why, IDK?

So, the life changing (lol) question of the day is should I try and stick this out a little longer, go back to the NORMAL and boring way, or give striaght bangs a shot again?

I welcome any advice (ha)!

LUCKY

So last night, I had the rare treat of listening to my husband Play the Piano and Sing (last time I heard him was Christmas)... He only played 3 songs but, I still I LOVED listening...He is the BEST!

I LOVE HIM- He has been so good to me lately.. I'm spoiled!

We have been going through a lot of family stuff lately, it's been crazy stressful to say the least and I am amazed at how loving and supportive my husband is... Not only, to me (he has always been like that) but, to my family as well! I truly feel that he loves and cares for them and KNOW (since he has) that he would do pretty much anything for them! I can't imagine being married to anyone else, he is for sure the ONE for me and lately I know he is the ONE that my family needs as well!

We are lucky!

PS- I am pretty sure I got a NEW JOB today...

Crossing my fingers it's a good move for me! :)

Engageiversary Date

So we did the PERFECT  thing to celebrate our Engagement Anniversary!

We went to the Brian McKnight concert...

Let me tell you why it was perfect:

1- I am a huge fan- I am a sucker for old school R&B (I have been teased by a lot of people saying that my ipod look like it would belong to black guy, I am by no means mad at that!)

2- Mike is a huge fan- he relates to him since he plays the paino/writes music/and sings (even though Mike claims he isn't a singer...I say he is)  

3- We bonded over our love for B McKnight when we first met... That's true love right there, ha!

4- You know how every couple has a "song" while they are dating...well, our happens to be by B McKnight. Cheesy but, true! We have added one more since we have been married...

5- We tried to track him down and see him while we were on our honeymoon but, we just missed his concert by just a few days...sad!

Well, he did not disappoint... I have been looking forward to this for months and LOVED it! I have always loved his music but, I didn't know how funny he would be...He was so entertaining. I laughed the whole night! He was truly "working it" up there! It was just him, his piano, his guiars, and keyboard. No band, no back up signers, no backing track... nothing... just him! His voice was incredible live dare I say better live. I mean who now days writes all their own songs, plays them, and sings them...very few. He is a talented guy! 

It was so fun being there with Mike, I love being married to a musical guy! :) I was worried he wouldn't play our song (dating song)... and we would be disappointed but, he played it SECOND! I didn't even have it wait (I'm not sogood at that)...It was awesome! I took live video but, I am not really sure how to get that on here..so the lyrics (to our song) will have to do (google it, the music is so pretty)!

ENGAGED 8/26/2010

It's hard to believe it's been a year since that fun trip and since we got engaged...It seems like yesterday.

He waited until the last night of our trip to ask me on our final walk around resort (it was GORGEOUS at night)...I was tired from a long day in the sun and a fun night down town with the group and I had NO idea is was coming... He got me when I least expected it and it was simple and perfect!

Luckily, I had a long plane ride home the next day to STARE at my ring... I was obsessed! :)
